Matt Thomas
Cale Retreat Interim Director
Dr. Matt Thomas began serving as Interim Director of Cale Retreat and Conference Center February 1, 2010. He and his family returned to the Elizabeth City area at the leading of the Lord and are excited about the way God is moving in this area and this part of Northeast North Carolina. Matt also serves full time at Riverside Baptist Church in the Weeksville area of Elizabeth City.
Matt has earned three degrees from Campbell University and Campbell’s Divinity School and attributes any academic success to the grace of God and to the ability to persevere in education. His area of study has been Christian education, particularly faith formation with children.
Matt is driven by his call to be a part of the story that God has for His people.

Favorite past times: reading, writing, rooting for the Miami Dolphins, collecting Wheaties boxes, spending time serving in community civic groups, helping with youth sports, and spending time with his three favorite girls: wife, Christy, and daughters, Kayli and Erin
